Maps
Located in the north-central USA, South Dakota’s the Black Hills are among mid-America’s favorite vacation destinations. But no one wants to spoil a trip by getting lost. Since our visitors’ safety is our top priority, with the help of the maps provided by Black Hills Visitor Center, you will surely not lose the way.
All the maps are copyrighted and for you and your family’s personal use. The Black Hills & Badlands Tourism Association’s original plans are the definitive visitor maps for the Black Hills, the Badlands, Devils Tower, and Indian Country. Please note that the map document files are large, so the downloading might take some time.
Gift Shop Traveling is incomplete without shopping. If you are a shopaholic or want to get presents, stop by their gift shop to pick up exclusive Black Hills Road Trip Gear, Motorized Trail permits, State Park passes, local coupons, and other great South Dakota-made products and souvenirs. Black Hill Visitor Center offers a South Dakota Wine Shop, free exhibits, a bookstore, free Wi-Fi, sparkling clean restrooms, a pet exercise area, and plenty of free large pull-through parking.
Motorized Trail Permits Purchase a Black Hills Motorized Trail Permits in the gift shop, available as a seven-day consecutive pass or an annual pass. For your convenience, the annual passes are also available for purchase online. Please note that you will have to allow us 8 to 10 business days for shipping and processing while purchasing your pass online.
Travel Safety Measures
If you want to enjoy your trip without being sick, following some guidelines set out by Black Hills Visitor Center will let you do it without any worries.
The Black Hills Visitor Center is following CDC guidelines.
Hands-free door openers
Hand sanitizer.
Social distancing measures.
Masks and gloves available for employees.
Plexiglass screens are placed at information stations and cash registers.
Regular sanitizing of frequently touched surfaces is done.
Vacation Guides and Maps are available in an outdoor kiosk. The following safety measures have been suggested for visitors.
Face masks and hand sanitizer.
Restrooms are available for washing hands.
Limiting party size entering the center.
They are limiting the time spent in the center.
Stand a minimum of 6’ from staff or other visitors.
Communicate with information hosts through plexiglass shields.
